Sister Wilhemenia London Wheelock
was born December 31, 1922 in East Feliciana Parish in the city of Clinton, Louisiana to the linage of Thomas and Carrie Prophet London. She was the fifth of six children born to this union.
A Time To Die:
With her travels here on earth completed,
Sister Wilhemenia
, on Monday, January 11, 2016 at Lane Memorial Medical Center in Zachary, Louisiana heard the still small voice of her Lord and Savior say my child you have served me well; come home and take your rest. So without a word spoken, she moved quietly in her new home.
A Time To Plant And A Time To Pluck That Which Has Been Planted:

as she was affectionately called by her sisters and brothers, accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized at Asbury Methodist Church in Clinton, Louisiana where she remained a faithful member until the family moved to the Scotlandville Community. She transferred her membership to Camphor Memorial United Methodist Church where she has remained a dedicated member for more than sixty (60) plus years. She was a member of the Prayer Band (given the nickname "Prayer Warrior" by some members), Communion Stewards, the Combined Choir and the Fellowship and Service Club.
A Time To Love:
Sister Wilhemenia
met and was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, the late David Wheelock. She loved and was devoted to family and friends with a motto of
" If I Can Help Somebody, Then My Living Will Not Be In Vein ".
A Time To Mourn:
Sister Wilhemenia
leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Doris W. Bowers of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Mary W. Emerson (Olan J.) of Baker, Louisiana; one nephew who was like a son, Alfred U. Reid (Sharon Butler) of Temple Hills, Maryland; one sister-in-law, Ella D. London, Baton Rouge, Louisiana; seven grandchildren, Arinzo Bowers, Joycelyn B. Wallace (Cleophus), Kathy B. Landry (Frederick), David Bowers (Carla), Helen B. Myer (George) all of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Shenetta Bowers and Kelli A. Emerson of Houston, Texas; nine great-grandchildren; five great great-grand-children; two God children, David Jackson (Marcia), Vera J. Sterling; extended family, McHenry and Helen B. Jackson of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; a number of children in Christ, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.

was preceded in death by her husband, David Wheelock, parents, Thomas and Carrie P. London; two sisters, Florence L. McDowell and Ethel London; three brothers, Harrell, Henry and Warren Harden London.
