A native of Baker and resident of Alsen passed away at 6:15 p.m. on Monday, March 10, 2014 at Baton Rouge General. She was 85 and a retired cook and caterer. Visiting at Promised Land Baptist Church on Monday, March 17 from 9 am until service at 11 am, conducted by Rev. Samuel Alsanders. Interment in Southern Memorial. She is survived by her daughters, Glenda M. Edwards, Lucille McKnight and Lilly M. Edwards; sisters, Della M. Hilliard and Lovenia Kinchen; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Edwards; and sister Mable C.
