Ricky B. Porter Jr., of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away in his sleep on August 24, 2026, in Baton Rouge. He was born on July 1, 1975, in Baton Rouge, and will be remembered with love by those who knew him.

Ricky built his life through hard work and dedication. He spent more than 20 years as a welder at a fabrication shop, giving steady effort to his trade and providing through the work of his hands. He also worked as a cook at Tony’s Seafood in Baton Rouge, where his labor reflected the same commitment and dependability that marked his life.

Above all, Ricky’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sonia Ross Porter; his mother, Wilma Harris; and his father, Ricky Porter Sr. Their love for him, and the bond they shared, remain a lasting part of his story. May they find comfort in cherished memories and in the love that surrounds them during this time of sorrow.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Scott’s Bluff Morticians, 8546 Scenic Hwy, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70807. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Scott’s Bluff Morticians.
