Jeffrey Lewis
Ferry
Nov 19, 1982 — Jan 14, 2026
Jeffrey Lewis Ferry, affectionately known as "Jeff," was born on November 19, 1982, to the late Earl William Ferry and Pamela Bernard Patterson. He was a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and grew up in the Valley Park Community. He entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 14, 2026.
Jeff was baptized at an early age and had always had a profound love for the Lord. He had a heart of gold and was always looking for opportunities to be a Good Samaritan. He discovered his passion and talent in basketball at Narin Recreation Center. This talent led him to play basketball at Glasgow Middle School (Gators), Louisiana New School Academy (Eagles), and Lamar Community College (Runnin' Lopes) during the 2006-2007 season. Jeff had a vision.
One of his biggest dreams was to play professional basketball. Not only did he have a passion for the sport, but the money that came with the game would be enough to change his family's life. No one required this of him; it was just in his heart to do so. Family was everything to Jeff.
Unfortunately, those dreams never got the chance to become a reality. The enemy came to kill, steal, and destroy. In 2007, Jeff was injured while playing basketball at Lamar College in Colorado. After his injury, he began to battle anxiety and depression, silently. Still, Jeff never lost his faith. He always believed one thing, no matter what, time heals. He was always striving for better. He often referenced this Norman Vincent Peale quote: "If you shoot for the moon, and miss, at least you land upon the stars."
Jeff leaves to cherish his memory his four children Quincy George, Jaden Turner, Prince Blaize Randolph, and Shaia Elaine Randolph, his mother, Pamela Patterson, five sisters, Gwendolyn Hooper, Krystyna Patterson, Kimberleigh Patterson, Ethel Washington, and Deidre Harrison, four brothers Michael Ferry, Marcus Ferry, Frederick Ferry, and Patrick Ferry, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, a brother, Charles "Boo" Mitchell Sr, grandparents Louis Bernard and Dorothy Daniels Bernard, Ethel Ferdinand Kemp, and Ezekiel Ferry.
