A resident and native of Baton Rouge, he passed away at 7:25 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at home. He was 72, a U.S. Army veteran and a retired employee of Dow Chemical. Visiting at Scott's Bluff Funeral Home on Monday, April 28, from 9 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., followed by a service at 11:30 a.m. conducted by the Rev. James B. Hooks. Interment in Port Hudson National Cemetery. Survived by his wife, Bennizine C. Thompson; daughters, Sheryl Thomas, Baton Rouge, and Denise Davis, Wichita, Kan.; brother, Albert C. Thompson; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, James and Theresa Thompson.
