Ivory Lewis, age 65, a native of Maringouin, LA and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA went to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, April 7, 2014. Ivory was a graduate of Rosenwald High School in New Roads, LA and was a star football player in the position of middle linebacker who received many awards and accolades. He continued his education at Grambling State University and played football under Coach Eddie Robinson. Ivory is survived by his son Anthony H. Johnson (Karen) New Roads, LA; three grandsons Anthony Johnson New Roads, LA ; Cedric Smith Maringouin, LA; and Mike Thomas Maringouin, LA; two brothers Willie D. Lewis (Tharis) Baton Rouge, LA; Edward Lewis Maringouin, LA; four nieces Chenese Lewis Baton Rouge, LA; Carolyn Lewis Baker, LA; Shawn Jenkins New Sarpy, LA; Afra Toney Oakland, CA; three great nieces Ayanna New Sarpy, LA; Jada Baker, LA; and Jade Oakland, LA; two great nephews Javonte Baker, LA; and Tyreck Oakland, CA. Proceeded in death by his parents Samuel and Annie Mae Lewis, and aunt Carrie Austin. Friends will be received Friday April 11th from 6:00-8:00 pm at Scott's Bluff Morticians 8546 Scenic Hwy.
