Eliza Ann Norris Russell "Big Mama" was born on October 23, 1936 to David and Annie Carter Norris. Eliza was a native of Lettsworth, LA and New Orleans, LA and resided in Baton Rouge, LA. On Monday, February 10, 2014 at 10 pm, the Lord took Eliza by the hand and she entered into the heavenly gates. Eliza is survived by a devoted companion Saffield Lewis (family), sons: James (Sandra Ann) and Emerson Russell of Baton Rouge, LA; daughters: Annie Russell of Sterling VA, Bertha (James) McCoy of Alexandria VA, Shelia Russell and Charlie Mae (Anthony) Simon of Baton Rouge, LA; grandchildren Della (Clint) Walker, Jackie (Hasting) Stewart, Shevelia Russell, Stasia and Kadejah McCoy, Donald Russell, Kiani Turner; great-grandchildren Ann Marie Walker, Hasting, Payton and Jordyn Stewart Madisynn Holmes; sister Annie Wilson, brother George (Beatrice) Norris; sister-in-laws Virginia Russell and Louise Harris. She is preceded in death by her husband Charles L. Russell, parents David and Annie Norris, daughter Mary Ruth Russell, grandson David Lee Ruffin Simon, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews and cousins.
