married his high school sweetheart, Ruby Whittaker. They established their life together in Houston, Texas. The joy of this union was the birth of their only child, Charles "Tiger" Davis. Tiger blessed him with the best gift of all . . . . . two (2) wonderful grandsons.

departed his earthly life on Sunday, March 27, 2016 at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston, Texas.

Davis, son; Charles Davis, both of Houston, Texas, two (2) grandsons; Jaylen and Jordan Davis of Houston, Texas, three sisters; Roxie Davis of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Louvenia Dapremont of Inkster, MI and Margaret (Robert) George of Colorado Springs, CO, five sister-in-laws; Elsie and Georgia Davis, Bernice Cavalier all of St. Francisville, Louisiana, Donna Alexander of Zachary, Louisiana and Bobbie Cummings of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a best friend and cousin; Andrew Davis and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

was preceded in death by his parents; Rev. Rudolph (Bertha Payton) Davis, five sisters; Hattie Davis, Sally Gardner, Earnestine Thompson, Carrie Young and Alberta Payton, and four (4) brothers; Lionel, Edward, James and Reginald Davis.
