Obituary

A retired educator and resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 3:07 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. He was 80, a native of Heflin and U.S. Army veteran. Visiting at Scott's Bluff Morticians on Sunday, Sept. 15, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Religious service at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church on Monday, Sept. 16, at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Jesse B. Bilberry Jr. Interment in Louisiana National Cemetery, Port Hudson. Survived by his wife, Mrs. Charles Etta Coleman; four daughters, three sons-in-law, three sisters, two brothers, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, sister, aunt and nephew.
